Home Repair Books

I work in real estate so I am often asked for recommendations for books related to home repair.

Thought you might be interested too . . .

Renovation: A Complete Guide by Michael W Litchfield
While not as useful on a day-to-day basis, this book is a great reference. It's dense and hard to get information to help you fix something immediately, but fantastic if you want to learn about houses or if you are planning on undertaking a major renovation (whether on your own, or hiring a contractor because even if you hire
a contractor, this book will allow you to understand what he or she is talking about).

Black & Decker Home Repair
This is great for day-to-day fixes. Once, when our toilet started spewing water everywhere, this book helped us figure out what was wrong and how to fix it.

Reader's Digest New Fix-it-Yourself Manual How to repair, clean, and maintain anything and everything in and around your home
The version I own have is out of print but the one linked above is newer and better. This is similar to the Black & Decker one, but focuses less on home repair on more on fixing things in and around your home (like appliances, cars, your lawn, etc).

Reader's Digest Complete Do-It-Yourself Manual: Completely Revised and Updated
Very similar to the other Reader's Digest book.
